01What's the difference between a margin and a markup?
Markup is profit divided by costs. Margin is profit divided by the price your customer pays. A 50% markup is not a 50% margin: for $10 of cost, a 50% markup gives a $15 price and a 33.3% margin. The calculator keeps the two methods separate.
02How are marketplace fees included?
Percentage fees are calculated from the discounted amount collected, and fixed per-order fees are counted once. The suggested list price is solved algebraically to meet your selected margin or markup after those fees.
03Is my work saved?
The free calculator can keep a temporary draft in this browser's local storage. It stays on this device and may be cleared by your browser; there are no accounts or cloud-saved projects in this first release.
04Does this calculate sales tax or convert currencies?
No. Your chosen currency is a denomination for the calculation, not an exchange-rate conversion. Tax rules differ by location, so the numbers are estimates for pricing decisions—not accounting, tax, or legal advice.
05When will the Pro plan be available?
The $19.99 one-time Pro plan is planned for a later phase. Accounts, saving projects, quotation export, and payments are not active yet. No payment is being collected in this release.
